Our Mission
Hyperion will be a collaborative, welcoming theatre that constantly strives for artistic excellence; will deliver authentic stories that engage, inspire, challenge, and delight; and the raise up our community power of performing arts.
How We Started
As teenagers, Adam Fike and Ian Hauer dreamed of operating a theatre of their own.
In 2021, Adam and Ian convened twelve amateur storytellers in Noblesville, Indiana, to cast a vision for a new theatre. The group was united by a love of the performing arts and a desire to tell authentic stories, and The Hyperion Players was born.
Hyperion’s inaugural show, The Glass Menagerie, was announced January 10, 2022, selected from among six contenders after a series of table reads and late-night discussions. In February 2022, it opened at the Ivy Tech Auditorium in Noblesville.
What We’re Doing
Hyperion is based in eastern Hamilton County, Indiana.
In our early days, we’re focused on moving dramas, sharp comedies, stage classics, and original scripts. We prefer to work with a flexible cast in smaller venues.
Hyperion is looking for unique performance opportunities. Though we are built as a standard community theatre, we want to think beyond what’s expected!
Where the current arts scene is concerned, Hyperion is designed to be complementary, not competitive. Our members are active in other companies and we’re happy to be one of many in the area!
What’s a Hyperion?
In Greek mythology, Hyperion (hy-PEER-ee-uhn) as Titan of light and wisdom. He was first to study the stars and planets. Some say it Hyperion who gave humankind the gift of sight.
Our logo superimposes classic stage Fresnel the sun, connecting the myth of Hyperion to Greek roots of theatre. At number take aways from symbolism: often seen true selves on stage, our theatre has opportunity to shine light on authentic stories, and stories connect us to something far bigger than ourselves.
Plus, it sounds cool.
